Women’s Health Research
Women’s health is a complex and multifaceted area of study. Health research on women was not given much attention not until three decades ago. Women were excluded from participating in clinical trials. With the gap in knowledge and research related to women’s health, it is vital to acknowledge and address the numerous issues including in terms of inequities, discrimination, and lack of access. Our studies on women’s health will focus on the analysis of social, cultural, religious, political and environmental factors that impact the health of women.
Our objective is to conduct evidence-based research and ensure knowledge translated to women, health professionals, policymakers, researchers, and the general public to tackle the health challenges of girls, women and newborns. We are committed to conducting research with a global perspective that meet the highest ethical standards. Our research will respond to the top ten women’s health issues according to WHO including cancer, reproductive health, maternal health, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, violence against women, mental health, non-communicable diseases, health related to adolescent girls and older women.
We aim at reaching out to other researchers by promoting and facilitating meaning collaborations to advance women’s health research. There is the need to push the boundaries of innovation in women’s health research.
